          Pros

In previous years, prior to 2023, the pay can exceed an average traditional agent's pay. Now in 2023 it will likely take a decade before that pay is realized again - if ever - due to the economy, industry and changing company Agent goals. Benefits are above average (medical/dental/vision/401K).

          Cons

Pay comes at an *extreme* personal cost. Be prepared to lose all work/life balance as "good pay" at Redfin means quadrupling an average Agent's amount of sales. High volume = higher pay. Agents are on-call 7 days a week, every day of the year - inclusive of nights, weekends, holidays and vacations. There are no days off and Mgmt nor Corporate will address this. Top-level Mgmt requires you be available at all times since you are in "sales," meaning customers are welcomed to phone/text/email you at all hours. Your response times are critical to your company-induced metrics and public-facing customer service reviews, which is tied to your pay. Agents that succeed financially at Redfin are those willing to be available 12+ hours a day, at all times. They'll make the sacrifice for the potential pay, though Agent pay capability has now declined with recent changing company goals and the overall market. It's a very, very hard life to sustain. I did it for years with success; however, I lost out on an incredible amount of life. I cannot stress enough for someone to understand this prior to going into it; you will suffer mentally and physically at many points.

        Interview Tips

Feel free to post any interview questions you might be asked and I’ll help you compose an effective response :)

        Graduate Student

Hi! Looking for some advice regarding hiring processes. I completed 2 interviews with the company and they emailed to say they "want to put me forward for the job" and asked for references, passport, and for me to do a background check. I didn't hear anything for a week, so then emailed to check on my application status. They responded saying they would get back at the end of that week. Its been 2 weeks since. I emailed last week to ask for an update and have not received a response. Thoughts?

Got booted from my former position about 4 years ago, which I LOVED. I have the impression I was "kept" in sympathy. Now that I have my feet beneath me, I feel like I'm running in place. Over the past 2 years, I've probably applied for about 100 positions in other departments. True, a few were unlikely moonshots, but for the most part I didn't misrepresent myself. Am I the world's worst interviewer? Otherwise.. shouldn't I have been accepted elsewhere, by choice?

        Administrative Assistant

I haven't worked since Jan. 2020 when my job as administrative assistant for the Hospitalist group was eliminated. I can't begin to count the number of applications submitted, interviews I've had, jobs that I was told were mine then they weren't, etc. Several jobs have fallen through or not panned out. I am not a job hopper and want to stay where I go. I have a zoom interview tomorrow for a front desk receptionist position at an oral surgeon's office. Any interview tips are appreciated.
