I have been working at Redner's Markets part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

paychecks clear. There is a standard uniform and dress code. If you would rather play then work this job is perfect. Management is barely around to supervise.

Cons

very little hours. Even less money in paychecks. No bonuses or benefits and no chance or opportunity for upward mobility. Managers are lazy and could care less about employees. Senior staff is a joke, they dont work and are not available to complain or praise to, One of the worst jobs ever.

Advice to Management

Show us you can work too. Be available to staff. Give more hours and opportunity. Offer benefits to everyone with lesser contribution.

    Pros

Very flexible with hours, they always give you request off days, as long as you give them advance warning. Easy job, great for high schoolers who just need a part time job.

    Cons

Managers couldn't be less understanding. Everyone expects the employees to know everything, right away. Minimal training. Hard work is rarely acknowledged. Not many promotions available. Low pay. Many customers complain about how poor the customer service is and always compare us to Giant or Wegman's, with good reason. They don't inform employees of any benefits they may have received, instead wait until the employee asks them. Treats different departments way differently, with obvious favorites. Very strict to those who are not the favorites. Some of the managers are incredibly inappropriate as well. There is no line between personal and business for some of them.

    Advice to Management

Be more understanding. Train people better. You worry too much about budget, and not enough about your employees.Be straightforward with employees.

    Pros

The job was simple with little responsibility. The rules were straightforward and you knew exactly what was expected of you.

    Cons

The work environment was terrible starting with management. They were never happy and never conveyed what they wanted or their own goals making it difficult to work there.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with your employees, especially on a store level. Allow for the employees to see the company's goals and it will make for a much better environment.
