I worked at Redner's Markets part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good coworkers, managers good to work with and fair. Yearly raises, paid vacation after working there for a time that equals average number of hours worked in a week. Regular breaks. Flexible scheduling ( I always got days off that I requested). Hard work is appreciated and recognized usually although there are favorites (as there are everywhere).

Cons

Hard work when busy for older cashier like me. Workstation is not ergonomically designed. You must constantly reach forward to pull items over the scanner, even heavy items like cases of water and soda because there are no price scanning guns. Very easy to have lower and upper back pain after a busy shift. Cashiers are constantly watched, timed and secretly observed and rated. Mandatory weekend work. Food-oriented holidays extremely busy as are days prior to forecast snowy weather. Really less bad than good.

Advice to Management

Invest in some good equipment.

I have been working at Redner's Markets part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that work there are nice.

    Cons

They cut most people down to about 25 hours per week to get around obamacare. They way things are run are seriously backwards.
