    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Industry leader in sales, products, and consumers. Great at marketing to target market. Constant training for Customer Account Representatives. Promotes from within the company.

    Cons

Mainly targets low income families instead of focusing on a consumer market that can actually afford their products. Constant employee turnover. No customer retention. Afraid of "Bigger Retailers". Resells the same piece of product more that six times (way too many owners for one piece of product) instead of focusing on better methods to move old products out to get new products in.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on building a more responsible customer base for your employees. Rent A Center Inc. has all the tools to diversify their industry and be a Fortune 100 company because of it's structure, but the pricing on the products versus other retailers is holding the company back from dominating retail sales. Reconfigure the structure and focus more on customer needs instead of having your employees "strive for better customer service" so you all can jack the prices up to score more revenue. Take advantage of some of the "cleaner" areas for your stores and stop putting businesses in or near areas that compromise the safety of your employees and other consumers.

I have been working at Rent-A-Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice to get things to people in need

    Cons

Incredibly long hours and unrealistic standards that keep changing

    Advice to Management

Training the management to perform the same way. Needs to be the same across the board. One side of the US operates a complete different way from the other and the standards, professionalism and work ethic are a complete 180.
