I have been working at ResCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and create your own schedule, nice co-workers and you are helping others while doing your job each day.

    Cons

lack of training and clear expectations, the pay is low, few opportunies for advancement, unrealisitic work load for time and pay,

    Advice to Management

My suggestion(s) would be as follows, keep a closer watch of how your empoyees are being treated by other upper and middle management. The benefits and pay are quite low it would be wise to look around at what other companies that do the same thing pay their employees and what the work load is like.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at ResCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with the clients can be very rewarding. It's incredibly easy to get attached.

    Cons

The company makes its money on the backs of the home supervisors. Home Supervisors work as salary employees trying to cover shifts for a number of homes without an adequate number of staff. Although it is said that you can't work 24 hours a day, there is no other way around it sometimes. Home supervisors wear out and turn over faster than direct care staff. There is never a moment of silence, your pager (yes pager) goes off all hours of the day and night and every holiday. ResCare doesn't even pay for toward your cell phone bill when they are the reason you have one and must have unlimited minutes to keep up with the constant call offs and emergencies.

    Advice to Management

Hire Managers for each home, otherwise it is too much to manage with the turnover rate in the area.
