I worked at Restaurant Depot full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Has quality products at fair prices with a good mix of merchandise.

Cons

Poor to inadequate IT and computer system that forces its employees to use their personal
computers to get the information they need to perform their jobs.
Low paying wages for jobs with promises of bonuses that will not be paid due to issues
beyond employees control. Micro Managing GPS systems of field reps that the reps are not
allowed to start until they reach the assigned zip code and are to be turned off after the zip code is
done for the day. Rep pays the gaps Mileage is paid when company gets to it Flat rate Amount regardless of mileage . Sometimes up till a month later.

Advice to Management

loosen your wallet a little and reward those people that bust their ass for you
every day .Change the way you pay your sales reps mileage. Why should they tear up their
car and lose money to promote your business ? You know you'll never pay them their bonus .

I worked at Restaurant Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a job. And that's about the extent of it.

    Cons

Poor communication. Management cannot agree upon anything. If you are not part of the inner circle you are treated inferior. Management are self-centered.
DO NOT get sick. I had been helping open a store in the Mid-South area. My job assignment was the freezer section. I caught the FLU and had to miss a day of work. I came back the very next day (still sick though). We started stocking the freezer 2 days later. I worked the next 3 days and fell extremely ill. I was running a 103.9 temp. I called in and told them the situation. They strung me along as though it was ok and had already filled my position during my absence. Gee, thanks for the compassion.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your clicks within management. It's poor business. Have some compassion for you hourly employees."It starts with us" Is that not what your slogan on the t-shirts say?
