Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Revel Systems full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

none, the company does not care about its employees. If you like being micromanaged and taken advantage of, then this is the place for you.

Cons

very long hours, low pay, very poor management structure, horrible work/life balance. Revel's management acts like 8th grade schoolgirls and has no real leadership.

Advice to Management

Listen to you employees, dont let your ego's get in the way

I worked at Revel Systems full-time

    Pros

Smart idea for a market ripe for a change.
    Downtown Financial District location.

    Cons

CTO knows nothing about the market, audience, or domain for the industry the company is engaged in, yet Insists on controlling everything, while actively ignoring the advice of those hired for their experience and knowledge in these same markets and domains.
CEO has the maturity of a jilted, middle-school tween who neither understands nor comprehends the basics of proven, successful startup techniques and methodologies. Responds like a pouty, vengeful juvenile when confronted by those with proven success in management, staff motivation, marketing, and finance.
Both have grand illusions of creating a work environment akin to Steve Jobs and Apple, yet neither knows the first thing about how to motivate professionals or foster genuine creativity.
Delusions of grandeur overshadow the prospect of what was initially a promising technology.

    Advice to Management

Step aside and let the grownups do the real work.

    Pros

    The people are amazing!

    Cons

Everything else is horrible. The company will not admit it's flaws, they do not want to invest money into training or development. They have no interest in keeping great staff, but instead would rather ignore the needs of their people and only promote those who drink the Kool Aid.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, communicate and understand that they way you are running this company is causing it to crumble.
