I have been working at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time

Pros

Professional environment, great opportunities, several cash bonuses, awesome benefits, and unlike several other reviews, I actually was very impressed with the management. I just got out of the US Air Force and this company gave me a pleasant and smooth transition. They were great right from the start.

Cons

Somewhat low starting pay and lengthy hiring process

I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pros of working for the company:
    • Offers leadership classes that can help gain a prospective about yourself and eventually go after your own goals
    • Pay is every other Wednesday (instead of the 1st and 15th or the 10th and 25th)
    • Depending on your outlook of work, you can enjoy the place and the people
    • Offers a small gym to work out in as well as other programs to improve yourself
    • Has a cafeteria that offers some good menu items to select from (prices are ok and is deducted from your pay)

    Cons

The cons of working for the company:
    • Can be a high stress environment with a lot of inner office politics
    • Might require longer hours than stated, possibly working on a rotating shift
    • Several tests before a call back – can be stressful if you don’t do well on tests
    • Very strict work environment depending on your manager and supervisor

    Advice to Management

Advise I would share with upper management, appreciate your employees, encourage them to grow and to reach their goals even if that means that they leave the company. You are planting in your employees, will you plant a tree or a weed. You want them to produce fruit, so care for them and help them grow.

I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Reynolds matches 401K contributions up to 6% (although contributions made by Reynolds will be pulled out if you leave before 2 years).

    Cons

Reynolds pays below industry average salaries. There is very high turnover because they would rather replace you with a new graduate than bump your salary. Raises are few and far between and don't amount to much.

In the Manufacturer Integration department they encourage you to put your work life ahead of your personal life. If someone leaves the department a new person is not brought in to assume the resposibilities of the departed employee. Instead they simply force the remaining employees to absorb the duties and tell you "there is only time" if you say you don't have time to get everything done. Meaning there is no work hours or personal hours, it is all just time and there is no excuse to not get it all done.

The food in the company cafeteria is AWFUL, especially for lunch. They say the meals are subsidized by the company, but it is hard to believe that a modest size, plain, low quality burger without fries or a drink is subsidized at $4.

Management watches your hours like a hawk. You have to punch in and out every time you change floors in the building so they can always know where you are at.

The company does not sell any high sugar beverages as part of their effort to promote health and wellness. What ever happened to personal freedom and accountability?

You will not start with any vacation time. You have to earn your vacation time during your first year so you can have some during your second year (10 days maximum).

Overall a very stingy company that would rather replace you than reward you. Not bad for a starter job straight out of school, but certainly not an ideal place to build a lifelong career.

    Advice to Management

Reward those who deserve it and maybe they will stick around. Also raise salary level across the company to at least industry average.
