I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Most of the people are friendly. The facility is very nice and impressive from the outside. The location is nice, next to an outdoor mall.

Cons

All of the management seemingly failed upward. Most of the impressive facility is empty, just a shell of what used to be a good company before their sale in 2006.

Advice to Management

Get input from those who actually do the work.

I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They're always hiring. Reyonlds and Reynolds will hire pretty much anyone out of college.

    Cons

Presuming the prospective employee can pass their battery of obtuse and illegal test and interview questions, they can expect to work for a year or two before being fired or laid off for some reason. The only senior-level employees that were retained by the time I was let go were management.

The benefits that were promised to me during the interview all changed in the first few months after I was hired. Sick time was curtailed to the point that you received two sick days per year without a doctor's note, and developer staffs were cut in half, expecting junior developers to perform the work of multiple senior-level personnel. After being informed that the weakening of the auto industry would lead to salary cuts, but that no personnel would be fired, four were fired that day, including me.

I'm now six years into a successful career in software, and the management had the nerve to tell me I just wasn't cut out for software development and that I should consider a different industry.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.
