Pros

- Holiday shutdown allows for 2 weeks off in addition to regular vacation.
- Flexible personal time for salaried employees.
- Secure environment.
- Very green company.
- Decent benefit package plus 401K package.
- Profit sharing program for most employees.

Cons

- Very little internal growth opportunites or promotions.
- Older and dated infrastructure and equipment.
- Management inneficiences and long decision making processes.
- Overly stale environments limits creativity and coworker bonding.
- Multiple language barriers.
- No real telecommuting opportunites.
- Break rooms and areas are substandard and devoid of relaxation.

Advice to Management

Employees need more relevant and updated skills based training. Need to foster additional moral amongst employees. Company decisions should be communicated much better to employees. Invest a bit more in functional and relevant equipment. Company feels very 'cheap' on the inside. Ask for input from employees who actually work on the line.

    Pros

The flexibility of work schedules and new people coming into the company make it a nice place to work. There is plenty of work to do and new things to learn as the company looks to create its own identity. The company also appears to look internally to promote and I think that shows value of employees on some level.

    Cons

The majority of employees at the company are from IBM and say they want change but really cannot manage to change. IBM is the way they know and they can't move away from things being done a certain way. The senior leadership struggles with the same mentality and can't move away from IBM thinking. Senior leadership also needs to listen to those below them and trust those doing the job to understand what the challenges and obstacles are every day and value that input in making business decisions.

    Advice to Management

Trust in the individual contributors and managers below you to provide sound business processes and input and use that information when making executive level decisions. The new CEO is definitely getting a handle on the business and hope he can take ahold of the older leadership and transform their thinking into something new and fresh.
