Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Many dedicated employees, generally lower level staff, who are willing to work all hours necessary to successfully complete mishandled, mismanaged projects. Small pockets of talent can be seen everywhere.

Cons

No respect for people, management or general employees.
Managers are unduly pressurised by senior management, which results in a negative working environment for all employees.
Employee remuneration package is much lower than other similar businesses in Houston.
Very long working hours.
Expectation of unpaid work, with zero consideration for family/work life balance.
Frequent management changes, as senior employees leave because of bad working conditions.

Advice to Management

Offer higher pay and better package, to attract better managers.
Do not hire YESmen, as this does not foster innovation and only respects ideas from the CEO.
Respect the right of an American citizen to a reliable family personal life outside work.

I have been working at RigNet (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Have a "few key" customers left. Not much else as the technology will be outdated shortly and the last big press release by a former Inmarsat Sales VP was reselling a partner. Any other news on deals in 5 months. Though me how to buy, sell and short stocks!

    Cons

Just notified sales reps no paid past conditions and straight salaries. Good chance of another lawsuits with customers backing the sales guys. Offices closing, more IRS Audits. Hope the VC firms are getting hands on now.

    Advice to Management

None, it's to late. Most of our resumes are in the hands of recruiters, all the talent is gone, just the uneducated dreamers are left!!

I worked at RigNet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Only good positions are field technicians or managers. Techs make good money with minimal supervision and managers do as they want and have security by keeping lower level employees down.

    Cons

Zero room for growth. Company does not foster any career development at all, nor do they offer additional training for current roles. HR will preach otherwise but they take no action. If you want to work for RigNet, get ready to go nowhere fast. You will hear nothing but excuses from management. Company chooses to invest in everything but their employees.

Company is also bursting at the seams with VP's while they continue to eliminate jobs of those on the front line doing the work.

    Raises - nonexistent
Bonuses - none for most, unless you're a VP or C-level.
    Training - None
Career Growth - none, they will hire outside before promoting.
    401k - company match suspended

    Advice to Management

Take these reviews seriously! I was not fired or laid off and am not bashing the company out of spite, but was just extremely let down by a company I once loved and was lucky enough to find a new opportunity in a new industry.

I would venture to say the majority of your workforce is exploring or looking for a way out. Moral is the lowest I've seen in 6 years; people are miserable and it would be nice if management even pretended to care.
