Pros

They are located in SoHo and very close to public transportation to all parts of the city and outer boroughs. They provide snacks to offset any later in the day hunger pangs. Some of the management team are pleasant.

Cons

Do not believe anything management will tell you. Even though, New York is the official headquarters, the "marching orders" comes from London. The heads of departments are located there and they dictate policies and procedures from London. They will blatantly lie to the employees. Additionally, the management will request that you work overtime without compensation or recognition.

    Pros

The Work life Balance is reasonable
They provide snacks to keep you entertained when you are bored to death with the work you have. Which is basically all the time.

    Cons

Terrible management that constantly lie and backstab employees. They show little respect and its all about the bottom line
No professional development or long term growth
No real promotion opportunities. Constantly fighting to get your voice heard. Have to be in close with senior management (ie, work as a slave) to have any possibility of moving up.

Wouldn't recommend this place as a place to work at all. Are far better companies in the same sector to work for.

    Advice to Management

Listen, respect and reward your employees who often do a great job with very little guidance or help from senior management.

I worked at Rimes Technologies full-time

    Pros

Solid co-workers. Comfortable but demanding environment with standard, not over-bearing hours. Pay and bonus structure is decent. Exposure to just about every asset manager, indexer, and financial data provider under the sun. If you're smart, you can make the most of it.

    Cons

All decisions are made by a fairly invisible CEO. Very disjointed upper management with no real connection to the sales or operations of the company.

    Advice to Management

Putting resources into technology development is of course important, however people also matter. Really consider building a culture of personal development if you want to retain or recruit good talent. The lack of doing so unfortunately promotes a culture of distrust and low morale. A 401K match would go a long way in showing that you value your employees. It's the industry standard.
