Pros

Great Benefits, comfortable corporate culture, and free cafeteria food! Additionally, there are always opportunities to work within other departments to learn and grow. Everybody treats guests and other employees as fellow ladies and gentleman. Uniforms are washed and maintained on site and no additional cost. Discounts for Marriotts and Ritz Carltons are available from day 1 to all employees. Ability to transfer easily to other hotels. Has an effective employee promise/protection plan that provides recourse for employees.

Cons

Pay not as good as other comparable hotels. Tipped positions can offset this however. Can include very random hours including late night, weekends, and long shifts.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work in keeping us posted.

    Pros

The people are great, most of them. The management listens to you, you can transfer anywhere in the department after 6 months, if you do not like it. They are the best paymaster from all the hotels in the world, and in the area. the ritz carlton brand name looks great on any resume, and after you have worked for the company your employment options are limitless not only in the hotel industry but also in the service industry. you could move into the airlines, restaurant, lodging, the world is your oyster. even when looking for an apartment to rent the landlord is more willing to rent you the apartment just because you work for ritz.

    Cons

Long work hours and having to work on weekends.

    Advice to Management

Hire employees based on their skills and competencies for the job.

    Pros

the healthcare benefits are decent and the company name looks great on your resume!

    Cons

Because of the high esteem of the company name they tend to slack on some of the benefits other companies give. There is a perception from the outside that the company treats its employees like it treats its customers even though that is rarely the case. In many instances there are very large discrepencies in how employees are treated within the same company.

    Advice to Management

there needs to be more communication, follow through and a more obvious commitment to "walk the talk". the tools appear to be in place but they are not utilized as efficiently as some other companies are able to.
