I worked at Riverbed Technology as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

High level, action packed and in depth experience to business process and SOX audit fieldwork, testing and reporting.

Exposure to organizational architecture that brought academic studies into vivid life.

Arriving to work every day with a feeling of excitement because the department is passionate about their work and it is contagious.....it is easy to be excited when supporting an awesome company.

Extremely professional and knowledgeable IA team, and this cannot be over emphasized. Amazing accumulated backgrounds and each member has a slightly different perspective to share.

Each team member was very open to sharing knowledge and making the internship a career changing experience.

Above and beyond the internship was the mentorship in assisting me form future goals. This was easy when working with individuals who had inspiring careers!

Very inclusive company! Even as an intern, I felt very welcomed and a part of a TEAM.

Cons

The only con is that I had to leave to finish school~

Advice to Management

Thank you for awesome experience! I only hope my career can lead me back there at some point~

    * Never trust your managers
    * No fun at work place, People just come and work they never interact with each other.
    * Never join the Pilot QA group (Bad Manager and no visibility)

I have been working at Riverbed Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Open and Encouraging work environment
Talented group of young folks including engineering managers.
Apple products, flex work hours, free food, drinks and usual tech company goodness
Positive interaction with HR and lawyers (read immigration)
New in 2013 - Riverbed The Brand
    Office in San Francisco!

    Cons

    Extremely niche and proprietary technology
Company vision is focussed towards consolidation and acquisitions. No great innovation happening here anymore.
Old school mentality. Managers comfy in their job. Not outwardly ambitious (which will affect you as an engineer) and they gossip a lot.

    Advice to Management

Noticed a lot of lateral hires especially into management roles. Promote from within!
