Pros

Decent Salary
Nice Pro Deal Perks
Nice Location - close to everything
Nice casual work environment
Some great people work there

Cons

Benefits are horrible - basically non existant
Company does not give raises - only with promotions
Promotions are non existant unless related to or friends with owner
Upper management does not value employees and lets them know they are replaceable

Advice to Management

Value and reward employees that work hard and are loyal to the company. If not they will all leave and you will have a hard time replacing them, as people in the industry talk about how bad it is working at Road Runner Sports.

    Pros

The company sells interesting product. The focus is extremely sales and revenue oriented. Nice building and location. Friendly co-workers. Dynamic environment.

    Cons

The company has a notorious reputation for turnover for corporate employees. There is zero job security here. The company is privately owned and staff are cut whenever needed to cut costs. Since working at Road Runner, I have met no fewer than seven people who have worked at the company at the corporate level who say the same thing. Moreover, each asks about former co-workers and no one knows them as the turnover is so high. Everyone has worked with a different set of employees.

The owner of the company is highly entrepreneurial and tries to develop new divisions, yet many are not successful, i.e. branching out into sports equipment and women's clothing sales, retail stores, etc. He routinely puts on a mandatory "History of Road Runner Sports" presentation which essentially focuses on his own personal success.

Corporate employees are expected to occasionally work in the warehouse picking inventory, sometimes coming in on weekends.

    Advice to Management

Consider how decisions to benefit short term goals cost in the long term. When a company develops a notorious reputation for layoffs it becomes difficult to attract top talent.

    Pros

The company provides excellent pay scales and the bonuses are great. The management is very considerate with your other obligations, communication is really easy and the other employees are excellent at what they do.

    Cons

The organization of merchandise is occasionally hard to work with and the corporate policies dealing with procedures and returns are awkward and unnecessary sometimes.

    Advice to Management

The company is great and provides awesome customer service, but the company could use help with stock replenishment and taking care of inventory a little better.
