Pros

Culture was great - good Boulder company
Atmosphere was comfortable and people seemed to genuinely care about each other
Benefits were great - vaca, insurance, 401k, supplemental insurance, flex spending
Coworkers were fun and creative
Beer was free!

Cons

Working for a company for sale is difficult. There were poor choices made at the executive level that affected every aspect of the corp. office in Colorado. They hired too many support people, then laid them off.
Frank Day is not the issue - it was the CEO, CFO, CHR

Advice to Management

Stabilize the environment

    I have been working at Rock Bottom Restaurants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    best management I've ever dealt with, BOH staff is awesome, FOH is all right, easy to pick up and switch shifts (HotSchedules), high check averages

    Cons

    Business is disastrously slow and management always overstaffs! I truly don't know how the servers are getting by here: they seem totally content to walk out of a shift with less than $50
    (and almost always less than $100 on a double!). That should NEVER happen at a restaurant with a menu like this one. What's frustrating is that there is definitely the potential for servers to make money here. Management just has little to no idea how to implement it. I can't afford to drive here and not hustle for my money, so I'm looking for something else. If you're a college student with mom and dad footing the bill for almost everything and you need a little extra spending money, this is the place for you. Servers looking for a real job, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

    Staff less and with stronger servers and help run the floor - you will be amazed at how your labor improves!
