Recruiting & Micromanaging - National Driver Roehl Transport Employee Review

      Pros

Pay is decent. Travel a bit. Easy gig. Your own truck. Offer CDL training.

      Cons

EVERYTHING is planned. Micromanaging to the highest level. You’re a glorified steering wheel holder. “Shut up and do it” To anyone seeking to get their CDL through them, or this being your first driving job. Reconsider. Every company is short staffed. Either go LTL or buy your own truck.

Roehl Transport is one of North America’s safest trucking companies, and we have over 60 years of success. That is not by accident! We are built on values, and we know how to be successful. We also know how to help our teammates be successful while servicing our customers. If someone wants to run their own trucking company where they decide which loads to haul and which routes to take, your advice to buy a truck is solid. We’ll just be over here living our value of Delivering Success to our customers and teammates alike.

          Pros

The work itself is enjoyable. If you like crying almost daily because you never see your kids, this is the place for you!!

          Cons

ZERO family/home life balance. Forced to work 45 hours. There isn’t even enough work to keep busy for that long. I get no time with my babies. My children are also being punished because of it. They never see their mom. The 6 minutes a day we have together is not enough. Family is not valued. No give and take. Only take by the company. Taking away these precious years I’ll never get back with my beautiful children. The only reason I haven’t left is because I can’t afford to. It’s sucking the absolute life out of me. I had to start therapy in order to even get through my days.

        Interview Tips

Do you experience that how long the hiring process would take at Thermo Fisher? I got my second interview with hiring manager at the beginning of November but I haven’t heard nothing from them. When I’ve emailed them to check in they just said that the process would be slow, no time frame. I would be able to get an offer soon from other company but work as contractor. Should I wait for Thermo Fisher?

Booz Allen Hamilton Recently applied and I've been referred for an interview! Any tips on interviewing with Booz Allen? And if I am being asked to complete clearance and background upfront, is this a good indicator for being hired?

Applied for a job a few weeks back, got a call from HR yesterday morning about an interview next week. She mentioned she'd shoot me an email with all the interview details, but so far, my inbox is empty. Assuming I'll hear from her early next week, is it normal for them to expect me to show up for an in-person interview on short notice, like couple days?
