I have been working at Rogers Communications full-time (More than a year)

Pros

- Good benefits and pension
- Good work-life balance
- Opportunities to move within the company

Cons

- Too much office politics, wasting days to get simple answers from people
- Lack of communication between departments even though the work is highly related
- No employee engagement
- Corporate fitness centre cost money

Advice to Management

- Put more focus on providing the best for the customer instead of using duopoly position to shut out competition like Netflix
- Use less contractors, quality and continuity of projects are suffering
- Reduce department politics and competing mindset

I have been working at Rogers Communications (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good at organizing capitals (real estates, spectrum, and etc.)
    - Internal opportunities exist
    - Stable work hours
    - Good benefits
    - Good people around

    Cons

    - Slow on decision making (process management)
    - Lack of leadership/strategy (decisions are adjusted based on competitors)
    - Willingness to change (hard to change the culture with many long serving employees)
    - Need to balance better between Technology, Sales and Customers
    - Very political between departments, too much focus on budget
    - Putting most of the work to the front line, lack of support from the upper level

    Advice to Management

Has a lot of improvement since I started working in the company. It probably takes time to make changes, and not all changes may take positive effects. There are few noticeable issues:
Lack of leadership from upper management - good idea to improve customer service, but upper management never showed their willingness to support (New features? 5 years plan?). It seems management are there to manage assets and buy time?
Complicated process - processes are too complicated, and require too many people to be involved, particularly for small project or minor changes from maintenance perspective.
Politics everywhere - difficult to make changes with politics everywhere. Re-org (layoff) took place once in a while, but little has changed.
