Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Rolls-Royce as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Best reason to work a Rolls-Royce was the Free Coffee initially, but they shortly did away with that, seriously.

Cons

Working conditions - getting away with NOT paying time/half, double time. Being lied to about length of contract.

Advice to Management

Grow up, be professional. Treat employees like they should be treated, be honest. I was so excited to work for someone like RR, BUT after this experience have changed my mind 1000% very very very disappointed.

    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO

    I worked at Rolls-Royce full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive salaries with good benefits, Global business with worldwide customer base, part of a larger global technology-based business with a strong engineering function.

    Cons

Corporate processes developed for the UK-based aerospace business are frequently not applicable to the energy business with its customized products for oil and gas customers, Poor track record of cost reduction partially due to over-reliance on the aerospace supply chain for aircraft engines in low volume production, Too many free riders not held accountable for non-achievement of objectives.

    Advice to Management

Be brave enough to develop and adopt processes applicable for the markets and customers you serve. Embrace product customization and make solid execution of it a positive competitive differentiator rather than fighting it and failing at it via standardization efforts that are ineffectual.
