Pros

Fantastic colleagues, great travel opportunities, if you love this work there aren't many places like it in San Francisco. High standards for quality of work, work ethic.

Cons

Very little mentorship (b/c there are very few truly senior people on staff), limited career growth. Can be very demanding depending on your team/position. You're expected to perform at 100% all the time.

I worked at Room to Read full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The work within early childhood education is absolutely beautiful
    - Great network to work with globally; there's a real sense of comradery

    Cons

Regional management is marred by a great sense of distrust that trickles down to program and technical staff. There's a lot of concern about the management approach, coupled by a multitude of HR issues which takes away focus from the mission work, impairing collaborative efforts and productivity.
