I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good associate discount, you might make friends/sympathize with some people that work there

    Cons

Management never schedules enough people to work, especially on the weekends, so the store is always a mess partly because we don't have enough time to clean, and also because customers are piggies and just drop stuff anywhere, and allow their kids to run around and destroy the store. So at the end of the night everyone is running around trying to do 10 things at once while managers yell at you to hurry up and asking you why your area is a mess. Also all the managers pick favorites- they take long breaks, leave early, and are generally lazy yet they are treated like gold while others are working their butts off, and management always find something wrong with their work, and are expected to do more, and more. Also pay is terrible and so are the raises. Seriously, did the job of 2 people, while getting paid dirt.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equally, find out who really works and who just kisses up to you guys, and schedule more people on the sales floor.

I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are looking for some part time hours it's not too bad.

    Cons

Only a few are hired on as full time. Everyone else is part time and your hours will fluctuate. If you do not make any requests for certain times you'll usually be working the night shift. From my experience there with management they don't like to work with your school schedule. And as a result there will be weeks where you get less than 10 hours.

    Advice to Management

Try to reward those who work hard not those who kiss up.
