I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

40% discount three times a year!
Great job for high school students
    Flexible schedule

    Cons

Part-timers are only scheduled 20 hours or less! No more than that!
    Store is always understaffed!
Extreme lack of communication amongst managers and employees (new set of rules/regulations daily from different managers about processes and procedures)
Management only cares about self and not the employees or store (management does not appreciate it if you attend school or have another job)
Raises are ridiculous! Expect 10-25 cents raise a year (I have been working for 4 years and I only make $9)
Expect to do the jobs of multiple people because people always call in sick, the managers never have enough payroll to schedule more people, and the management team spends the majority of their time in the office
Turnover rate is HIGH! Over 50%!
Opportunities to advance is scarce, unless you are a suck up or friend to management

    Advice to Management

Show a little more respect and recognition to your employees! Train your managers better! Try working in one of your stores with employees to better understand the needs of not only the stores but employees as well.
