I worked at Ross Stores full-time

Pros

Growing company with opportunities if you have a good DM that helps you with your career development.

Cons

DM hasn't managed salaried leaders and tries to micromanage every store. High turnover in store leadership as a result. Low payroll to work with so you are a cashier a lot of the time during your shifts as well as covering breaks for other associates if you are in a low volume location.

Advice to Management

Use 30, 60, or 90 day check in from Zone Directors to see how SM's are doing...

I have been working at Ross Stores part-time

    Pros

The pro for working at Ross is you get a store discount and most of my co worker are quite nice and very friendly.

    Cons

Some of the downsides is that it is quite dirty in the store also you are require to do a lot of work for minimum wage. Another thing is the amount of hours you get if you happen to go over the 25 hours weekly the store manager complains that you have to many hours and make you take lunches when you are not required to take one.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is actually look at the market in some areas because the store I worked at stay open till around 11 pm and to me it was a waste of resources for that store to stay open that late.
