Approves of CEO

I worked at Royal Mail full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

People at the top really want the change, there is good camaraderie amongst peers, and also with the new graduate programmes, the company is trying to become more professional

Cons

Extremely political, cannot push through the really important stuff...progress is difficult as well, as due to the politics, its not always a meritocracy

Some nice people to work with. decent rates of pay

    Cons

Very poor middle and upper management no care in uniformed staff just want to cut work force to save money on their budgets so they get bigger bonus at the end of the year.

    Advice to Management

look after your workforce they keep you in a job

I have been working at Royal Mail full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

if you're a postman on delivery, once outside doing your round, there's no governor sticking his nose on your shoulder, meaning none to boss you around. It's up to the postman to do his job & you don't have to go back to the office once you've get rid of all the mail & parcels.

    Cons

The big down side is that "self initiative" is none existent from the gov down to the postman. The management do not observe the so called "mis-in-place", the work area is always chaotic because of "I don't care policy among the staff", It's just like a "carry on thing & do your best".

    Advice to Management

I wish this gov would get off their high horse & see what's happening in their office. The staff needs more training & discipline. Most staff looks like construction laborers, I mean we're re presenting the head of the state why can't we dressed-up properly & presentable.
