I have been working at Rubio's Restaurants full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Rubio’s has a wonderful family environment that surrounds you with support and people that genuinely care about the success of the company.
The food is awesome!
The people are awesome!
During the hiring process, I was very impressed that Rubio’s allowed much of the department staff to take part in the interview process and allow employees to give their input about the potential employees.
Bonus opportunity based on overall Rubio's performance.
Good benefits.

Cons

I had hoped that the corporate office would have a built in Rubio’s Restaurant... unfortunately that is not the case but then again it isn't a requirement. On the other hand, there are 2 Rubio’s locations within 5 minutes, and there is often treats, leftovers from meetings and other surprises when it comes to food. Still, would love to not have to leave the office to take lunch.
The drive is a little longer than desired but I knew that when I signed up.
No definite advancement opportunities, but we'll see what the future holds.

Advice to Management

Continue to do what you are doing. Allow new employees to contribute to their retirment immediately even if their is no match by the employer until after their 1 year anniversary. Continue to hold employees accountable

    Advice to Management

Please check on your GMs to see how they esteem their direct reports. Sometimes an immediate supervisor may not be performing according to standards. Use Surveys to get feedback if not one-on-ones. But overall a great company. If it was not for being relocated it is a company I would have wanted to retire from.
