I worked at Rushford Center full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Their pay was very competitive when I was there a few years ago. I was actually making the same amount there as a BSW as I was at another agency with my MSW. They offer a wide variety of programs, making it easy to refer a client to another program. Paid for 2 trainings every quarter (or was it half) either with CSSD or DMHAS.

Cons

Since it is such a big organization, they could be a little too focused on paperwork, leaving less time for client interaction and aid.

Advice to Management

Help advocate for a more seamless approach to the paperwork so clinicians aren't sending out the same information on 3 different forms (or what have you). Work with clients should always be the priority.

I worked at Rushford Center full-time

    Pros

Ability to have a positive impact on the lives of recovering addicts, many of the direct care staff genuinely care about their clients and it shows

    Cons

Very unstable corporate atmosphere. I worked at Rushford for five years and experienced about four major restructurings, each one bringing with it large numbers of job losses. Management is horrendous, we were routinely told in company meetings that if we were not happy to find another job.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees right. Try to keep good talent and focus on developing them instead of trying to find more ways to increase your ever shrinking bottom dollar.
