I have been working at S&T Bancorp full-time (More than a year)

Pros

-Loyal to those who have worked at company for many years
-Smaller size of company allows for better relationships between employees in many departments
-No need for a college degree at entry level

Cons

-Compensation is disproportionate for as much responsibility and stress associated with job
-At entry levels, having a college degree provides no benefit
-Seem to deter forward career movement for those who have not been with company for many years

Advice to Management

Really seek and embrace those who wish to move further along in the company at a faster rate. Take note to those employees who have furthered their education, and wish to use the education to benefit your company.

I worked at S&T Bancorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The bank continues to grow making it ideal for advancement. Lots of good people working within the company.

    Cons

Politics between departments makes it difficult to get things done. Favoritism plays large role in promotions. Lean staffing leaves you feeling overworked and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who is actually doing the work. Don't wait until someone is leaving to offer them better wages. Replace the management within IT department.

I have been working at S&T Bancorp full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Management is stellar, and the employees as a whole are kind
-The company mixes the attitude of a multi-billion dollar bank with the friendliness of a small company
    -Forward thinking

    Cons

-Those working at the Solution Center are vastly under-paid. They're the swiss-army knives of the entire bank, and are the whipping boy for customers who call in generally irate, yet receive non-competitive wages.
    -The customers are terrible

    Advice to Management

-Make a more reasonable stacked bonus incentive system
    -Try to get higher wages
