I worked at SAIC full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Keeps you busy (80+ hrs./wk.)
Overtime pay
Gas mileage
Good way to learn about how state funding works
Lots of time outdoors
Some freedom in terms of location
Good way to explore places near where you live

Cons

Mileage checks took way too long to come
Working every day gets tiring after a while
People who were promoted didn't always deserve it
No way to know how long work would last
Sometimes hard to get in touch with management

I have been working at SAIC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good company. Many locations. Competitive salaries.

    Cons

Very focused on the bottom line. Everything is subject to sometimes unrealistic growth estimates. Seems like the only company who hasn't realized that the country is in a recession yet still expects to grow business by 10% or more each year. This creates unrealistic expectations and stress within the line organizations.

    Advice to Management

Bring company estimates more in line with the realities of your industries.
