Pros

If you live in Cary, NC. It is great. A university type atmosphere. Great Benefits. If you have good installed accts you will always make your number.

Cons

Management does not have much experience other than what they have learned through watching others fail at SAS and doing similar. So much pressure to do things that impact the relationship of customers, it is not a great environment. So worried about themselves, no one cares about customer.
If you want an inside sales focused job as an field account executive go to SAS. If you have experience and are looking for a place to hide, go to SAS. If you want to make money, look someplace else. You will not learn anything you cannot read in a Sales 101 book like "the little red book of selling."

Advice to Management

Hire others that have managed at other companies to gain some perspective on how to motivate and drive performance.

    Pros

nice people - probably the best environment you can find in the corporate world.
low stress - work is interesting and challenging but low stress coming from other aspects, which is good
flexible working hours and great benefits
    office work environment

    Cons

the uncertainty about the future - what will happen after Dr. G retires? the possibility of going public or being taken over by other companies? Can SAS always benefit from its subscription based business model?
