I worked at SDL for more than 3 years

    Pros

They pay on time Nothing else I can think of

    Cons

Insulting rates that keep getting lower and lower based on lies Everybody in charge of quality check does not know what quality looks like, and they all corroborate each other in a loop Subjective style choices Crazy math for word counts so you don't get paid for the actual word count Impossible tasks, lack of communication Systems don't actually work, but everybody pretends they do (especially for post-editing)...

    Advice to Management

At least put French Canadians in charge of French Canadian content.

I worked at SDL for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere but that’s about it

    Cons

Very disorganized, schedulers contact you for a project but you may show up and being told to turn around and go home without any sorts of compensation offered. Most of the testing projects are delocalized in eastern countries for cost cutting so based on the language you speak it may be very slow. I would say go for it if you are in between job but don’t expect to make a decent salary out of it.

    Advice to Management

Have the teams communicate more with their schedulers.
