    I worked at SEGA of America for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Low pressure, comfortable and generally friendly environment. Usual perks of working at a tech company.

    Cons

    Too many cooks in the kitchen. Continually adding and promoting directors that provide nothing of value. Games needed to be GIANT multimillion dollar hits to be considered viable. Small games, even if they were profitable were canceled.

    Advice to Management

    Try to invest in a number of small, experimental titles and get those in front of players quickly. Nurture any that show signs of success, instead of investing a year or two in a copycat title before finding out whether people like it.

    Pros

    Great benefits Medical/Dental/Commute Benefit 401K matching Relaxed atmosphere Helpful people Excellent hires Great downtown location near restaurants and bars Snacks always refilled Great brand and games Culture is enormously important from CEO down People stay with SEGA and come back regularly after sojourns to other companies

    Cons

    Wi-fi can sometimes be unstable which is frustrating There could be an additional bathroom Working from home is frowned upon It's strange people feel compelled to apologize to the entire group via email when they are running late (on the other hand I guess it's nice to know if certain people are just running late).

    Advice to Management

    Keep the focus on culture and product development.Fix the wifi.
