I have been working at SRA International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Many managers give you space to develop your career, and to contribute to the growth of the company.
    - SRA clients tend to rely on us for a variety of skills, so it is possible to move around and develop different skill sets over time.
    - Our offices are generally pretty nice, if you have an office and are not sitting at the client site.

    Cons

    - The benefits have gotten more expensive and less beneficial. Health premiums have gone up, and deductibles have been added where there were none.
    - The acquisition of the company has meant that there is no longer an employee stock purchase plan. When it existed, that was a GREAT benefit.
    - Internal mobility is hard because the company can be very stove-piped at times, and because there are generally less jobs available than people who are looking (at least right now).

    Some very good managers
    Convenient VA locations
    New management understands the business
Much improved remote technologies enable teleworking
    Great benefits
    Good pay

    Cons

    Culture stuck in the past
"Gone native" reflecting the government mindset
No working strategy or implementation skills
    Poor business processes
    Very poor business development skills
Do not live their published values

    Advice to Management

Quickly establish strategy and push it down to the tactical level
Clone the best managers to replace those who understand professional services
Hire from next tier firms - PWC, McKinsey, etc. - and allow them to re-ground the business
