I worked at SUNY Albany full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great flexibility, easy to communicate with peers and faculty, and a challenging environment that required me to think in my feet almost everyday. I had to work in a research lab in the biology department, and got to always work amongst great scientists in my lab and also within the RNA institute and the rest of the biology department. The pay was decent, and the culture was very open.

    Cons

Sometimes people don't pay attention to deadlines, or respond to emails. Communication is huge and could be vastly improved. Opportunities for improving weren't too any with respect to my specific field, so for that reason I decided to move on to a different field.

    Advice to Management

Talk more with your staff and employees and continue to foster an open culture!
