    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Sabre full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Beautiful campus, green LEED certification building and recycling programs
    - Free Coffee
    - Great Cafeteria with healthy options
    - Health benefit options and programs throughout the year to encourage healthy living

    Cons

    - Former AMR / American Airlines company which still ignores and defends bad managers
    - Many managers have little to no leadership or motivational skills
    - Quality of data and services they provide is generally out dated, not accurate and overpriced compared to the competition
    - Cultural diversity is heavily weighted by temporary foreigners from India with bias towards women, and other employees, similar to the CAST systems in their own country
    - English is the second language spoken here, not English. Very difficult to understand during meetings and conference calls
    - Promises are not kept, be sure to get everything in writing before working here
    - Google type atmosphere quickly fades once the smoke and mirrors go away
    - High employee turnover, ask why the previous employees left and why there are so many current job openings, its not all because of growth
    - Bad reputation among current customers
    - Obscene profit margins, yet tight fisted managers who demand more profits and higher margins

    Advice to Management

    - Hire more industry professionals with leadership skills, not MBA's who never worked in the airline industry or technology people with no personality.
    - Technology people are good at Technology, and generally do not make good leaders, mentors or motivators
    - Move all the off-shore business units under one roof to the USA
    - Make HR more about helping employees than supporting and defending bad managers
    - Eliminate old school managers who still embrace the Command and Control management style
    - Treat others how you want to be treated, and encourage this simple Golden Rule with other leaders and managers
