Pros

the health benefits are comprehensive. when a store is well run it isn't a bad to place but too often having to deal with the clutter that comes from on high only interferes with getting the job done.

Cons

management pay is horrible at the assistant level. Food clerks average more an hour than an assistant. Employees who work in the depts. make far less than journeymen food clerks. There is only so much work one person can complete but more and more work is added including useless paperwork that must be checked and rechecked and meanwhile hours are cut week after week.

Advice to Management

end the lies that employees are not quitting because of the low pay. It is stressed time and time again that if you make store manager you will be paid great. However when talking about other positions it is important to stress other benefits?

    Pros

    The health benifits are good.

    Cons

There are no good reason I could think of to work at Safeway Corporate in Pleasanton, CA.
The top management such as the "Senior VP" of a certain division, has no respect for his female employees, you have to get his coffee every morning and put it on his desk along with his morning paper.
I have seen him with his shoes off and feet on his desk drinking coffee and reading the paper!
If you don't respect him, your out of a job or HR is called in to remote your reputation as an employee.
Is this the kind of Management we want in our working environment who make 6 figures a year!
I would not recommend working for Safeway Corp. in Pleasanton, CA.

    Advice to Management

Respect your female employees, don't speak down or treat them as if they are below you!
