I worked at Safeway part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Flexible hours, allowed me to work weekends only (high school student), additional hours for snow days and breaks. Co-workers were friendly, hired special needs employees

Cons

I can't figure out any besides the minimum wage, but it was my first job and I was 17, so I didn't mind.

I worked at Safeway part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The first 10 years were great, I worked in both the NorCal division, back stage in Accounting and in PHX division in Gilbert. I worked with many hard working, by the book co-workers and managers, in different stores. Even though I worked crazy hours it did not bother me, I knew I was there to help my customers.

    Cons

The last Six years were not as good I worked in a store in the PHX division that was outside of PHX in the mountains. Because of this they did not rotate the store manager out every two years like they do in the valley stores. He had his favorites and there was nothing you could do even when it was proved that there was a problem.

    Advice to Management

The policy of rotating store managers maybe sad, since sometimes you loose a really great boss but I understand why it is done. Since this Manager know longer had children in school I think was time to move him it could have saved everyone lots of stress and money and the customers would have stayed very happy.
