I have been working at Sage full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, some smart people. All the basic benefits of a large company.

Cons

Sage does not share financials with employees, so it seems to make decisions without looking at financial data. There are small lay-offs at mid-management and staff levels all through the year. Every so often an email announcement says that yet another executive has left to "pursue other interests."

Advice to Management

Have loss tolerance for employees who are doing no work, and keep employees who are knowledgeable even if they are getting paid more than average.

I worked at Sage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The experience was very good. I was able to work on various types of software and I learned new programs in which to do my job, which really beefed up my resume. Most of my coworkers were very cool people with quite a bit of knowledge. Dress code was VERY casual.

    Cons

Waaay too management heavy. Half the time you don't even know who manages who and what they are even doing. One of the top managers was playing around on his iPad every time I passed by his office. They also like major butt kissing. If you are a good butt kisser, you'll go far. At times, the environment almost reminded me of high school, where there seemed to be some sort of a "popularity contest." People are also very into copying your manager on every email they send to you.
