I have been working at Saint-Gobain full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Friendly people, salary and benefits are good.

Cons

Interdepartmental bickering, finger pointing and CYA behavior is rampant. I have the impression sometimes that different departments are not focused on a shared goal. The workload is heavy - it is not normally possible to complete daily work in only 8 hours.

Advice to Management

Stop projecting and actively listen. There are so many highly skilled and very devoted people here who have great ideas. Don't dismiss them - let them be heard. Value the good people who are spending most of their waking life here by thanking them occasionally.

    Pros

Management is engaged, good early career experience, global experience possible, high expectations, values driven, long history, internal resources to get projects done

    Cons

Low diversity in the management ranks, risk adverse, poor marketing skills within the company, not very well known around the world, could do much more in HR to give career projections and paths

    Advice to Management

Need to develop a more diverse management team -- gender, nationality, culture.

    I worked at Saint-Gobain full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

good pay, benefits and growth opportunities

    Cons

inflexible policies that call for 0 tolerance. Budget rigidity - you can be up 20% over last year but, if your budget calls for 25% growth, you are considered to not be meeting your goals.

    Advice to Management

Need to evaluate upper management for palying favorites. They can terminate without any reason and never discuss ways to improve your perfomance. Care about your employees instead of your careers.
