I worked at Saint Luke's Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Friendly people, great diversity, nice male/female leadership mix. Benefits are good and there's a feel of family throughout the organiziation.

Cons

A lot of hours go into this company, this extra work is seldom recognized. Lack of management training and accountability can be observed throughout the company.

Advice to Management

Recognize the good people while they work for you so they stay and they stay happy. The organization is one with heart and appreciation but that needs to stay in each team/location.

I worked at Saint Luke's Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder (CAP Program), Mutual Climate of Respect--- among Dr's/Nurses/Admin/Aux Staff, Beautiful Facility, Excellent Benefits- I loved the Dr's I worked with. Great teamwork on my unit- great nurses to work with.

    Cons

Low Pay-- while CAP program is excellent way and incentive to be involved and contribute to hospital, you have to jump through hoops to get a raise, which is still low. Top Heavy in Mgmt., Often no time for lunch or restroom breaks (perhaps the nature of the job?)

    Advice to Management

I have worked at other institutions where the nurse managers sometimes work on the floor to keep their skills up and help during times of crisis/short staffing- this seldom to never happened. Would be nice to see this happen. Also- more help when staffing issues. Otherwise- enjoyed our mgmt team- they were very approachable.
