GM needs to be more connected to the store team.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Compared to other job opportunities in New Orleans, the pay is quite good. It is 100% commission so you pretty much write your own check. You work hard you get paid well.

    Cons

Our commission rate in New Orleans was reduced compared to other Saks stores I worked in (Dallas, San Francisco) due to lack of competition. The holiday hours, like all retail are brutal (if you will travel, forget ever seeing your family for holidays) and getting meaningful time off any other time of year is hell due to constant required store promotional events and brusque management resistance. You do get granted paid time off, but you definitely use it on their terms, not yours.

    Advice to Management

Please address the time off issue. This is the top complaint of all associates and reason for a lot of them, myself included, to leave the company. Be more understanding and flexible, not us against you, but how can we work together for mutual benefit. Believe me, there is a common ground where we all could be happier.
