I have been working at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large company with great resume presence.
You go to work, do your job, and go home. (No stresses outside of work)

    Cons

A great place if you are a "sales shark".
No room for growth from within, no response when growth is requested, and they search for reasons not to promote.
No recognition for loyalty or length of time with the company.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the talent you have within the organization. Stop hiring every retail employee in NYC, and keep the "exclusivity" to a luxury brand.

I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time

    Pros

    Good Benefits
Good Discount, but you won't be able to take advantage of it.
Nice coworkers, except for the sharks

    Cons

    Nonexistent management
Commission vs. Draw will keep you poor
    No promotion from within
    Constant hounding to increase sales
No supplies with which to do your job

    Advice to Management

You will constantly have a revolving door of employees for as long as you have commission vs. draw. It is designed to keep the employees poor and you know it.
Many of your associates are smart, hardworking people, but you never promote from within.
Cut down on the meetings and go out on the floor and actually manage.
