I worked at Salesforce full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The pay and the benefits were very fair. Very good training programs, well-organized and updated. Good flexibility and I was able to move between departments when that made the most sense for my career path. Products are outstanding. I had a couple great mentors while working here.

Cons

There was a little too much turnover, and with the volume and pace of the work required that sometimes made it difficult to stay above water. With the company getting large it became slower-moving the longer I stayed -- difficult to get some initiatives pushed through.

Advice to Management

If a little more attention is paid to work-life balance to avoid employee burnout, good things will happen.

I worked at Salesforce as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, informal working relationships across all levels, growth company and industry (cloud computing). Dynamic company to work for. Really enjoyed it.

    Cons

Environment can contribute to inefficiency. Senior management is smart, but tactical execution is not aligned sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Work on better alignment of vision throughout the organization (not just Senior management).

    Pros

    Cool company, bla bla bla.

    Cons

Every employee who is exempt of overtime pay is overworked and totally stressed out.

    Advice to Management

You're currently burning out your best people. Forget the investments in dog parks and standing desks and foosball tables. Just have people work civilized hours and watch how happy and productive they will be.
