I have been working at Salesforce full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

I have been employed by salesforce.com for over 3 years and it is exciting to be at a growing, leading edge company. We attract excellent talent and have a culture of teamwork which makes it a pleasure to go to work everyday. I'm proud to be at a company that gives so much back to the community and supports my efforts to give back. Success at salesforce.com has provided me with amazing financial rewards as well as career advancement.

Cons

Innovation and growth requires effort, constant change and refinement. Some may look at this as a negative but most here find it exhilarating.

Advice to Management

Continue your rigor around hiring the best talent and producing a product that drives value to your customers.

I worked at Salesforce full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - short work hours
    - benefits are same as other companies

    Cons

    - Unqualified management often with no experience/education in areas they are managing

    - Aggressive culture where people work against each other instead of working as a team

    - Blatant discrimination - behind closed doors reviews and promotions are highly subjective and based on non PC/HR compliant reasons

-Uneven leveling, titles make no sense - some managers doing entry level analyst work while another manager is doing director level work because they will not get promoted, see above

    - Bizarre focus on yearly goal creation. There are meetings about meetings about how the staff will create their goals. Sometimes there are multiple day meetings about how goals will be filled out.

    - Unusually high manual processes for complicated accounting processes. Automation is non-existent everything is basically done on excel

    - High turnover of qualified staff, people leaving within months of starting

    - You will not find the smartest or brightest of silicon valley in this finance org

    Advice to Management

    - Culture will not change
    - My advise to prospective applicants is to move on to the next opportunity
    - Ask about turnover in your interview. They will tell you people leave because they do not fit in the 'culture' but the truth is the environment is toxic

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Salesforce full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Incredible technology. Great customer success stories, and an amazingly passionate CEO

    Cons

As far as a sales job goes it is one of the worst I have ever experienced. The territories or account decks are not distributed evenly and there are only a handful of sales people succeeding despite the incredible numbers reported to Wall Street. Managers DO NOT coach; their only job is to manage your pipeline so you are left to out there on your own. As a result turn over is higher than anything I have ever seen

    Advice to Management

While the company is growing at an incredible pace, please do not lose sight of whats important...and that are your people. Great benefits, kotchens and an amazing CEO will help draw people but a great career is what will keep people with the company
