I have been working at SalonCentric part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Size, stability and growth potential. Being owned by L'Oreal offers huge advancement potential. Pay is decent.

Cons

Being part of large corporate America, sometimes positions are viewed as numbers not people from "higher ups". Buying up too many smaller companies to fast and not gradually causing a lot of growing pains.

Advice to Management

Too many changes at the same time. It would be better to put something in place and get really good at it before moving onto the next.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at SalonCentric (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employee discounts and normally not having to work Sundays.

    Cons

Upper Mgmt. has NO respect for employees! Only want empts. to be minions/robots, do not value experience or ideas from long term employees. Only want orders followed from Upper Management who have no clue about the professional hair industry. Care more about how shelving/fixtures look than providing superior customer service. Running off so many long term dedicated employees due to age or personalities NOT given consideration to loyalty or hard work and dedication given.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your Customer, the hair professional AND your long term employees. This is NOT a typical retail industry, customers do not care how the fixtures/signage look! It is about customer service and good sales promotions.

I have been working at SalonCentric full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Co workers. Discount on products

    Cons

Abusive management styles. Managers choose favorites.

    Advice to Management

STOP creating more work for your employees! We have enough on our sales plates! Let us do our jobs in the sales department . You sit behind computers in your home office not knowing what it is truly like to pound the streets creating relationships. Building businesses. Shampoo should be fun! Hammering and micromanaging your employees with 30 to 40 emails a day is absolutely ridiculous and does not make for productivity. You have created such a stressful culture it's no wonder so many of your employees are out on leave or are quitting. One hand does not know what the other hand is doing within any of the departments especially management. You are abusive on so many levels. And base your sales goals based on demographics! You can't have the same daily goals for a SF rep and a rep who sells in a rural area! Duh! And HR what HR? Well thankfully one class action has commenced...
