Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Salvation Army full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Really care about their employees, as well as the troubled youth they help.

Cons

Great that they are Christian oriented but you can get into serious trouble for simply having a glass of wine.

Advice to Management

It is so important to allow staff to build relationships and friendships with eachother because they often have to live and work in the same place.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Salvation Army as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Salvation Army is a great place to work, as an intern I saw that they help people from all walks of life and don't discriminate. I would love a chance to go back if the right job opened up.

    Cons

An issue I saw was the lack of funds. They are run on donations and in this economy they are also struggling to provide the help that the community needs.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Salvation Army full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a non-profit organization and you really do get to help others.
    Opportunities for advancement.
Rules and requirements are easy to follow and very straight-forward.

    Cons

Some of your co-workers have just as many problems as the people you help.
    Pay is low.
Management is sometimes reactional and displays power thrusting.

    Advice to Management

Think passed the conversation taking place - do not react to what one person says; do your own investigation. Once rules and policies are put in to place - follow them.
