I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a great job if you are in school....

    Cons

Bad pay just enough to keep above water, no longer a family oriented company since Sam died, never get positive feedback from supervisors/managers. The company has become more about money than about it being employee owned and that is just sickening. This job is not a job for the long haul. They penalize you when you take vacation days by making you work like 6 or 7 nights in a row instead of mixing it up.

    Advice to Management

Give the workers encouragement instead of always being negative like during the yearly reviews, or just when you speak with the employees.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is potential if you have no education to make 40k+ but it is hard to do.

    Cons

They work a lot on career advancement and scheduling promises. You contract for 50 hours and some managers work less, however there are 1-3 picking up the slack and working 60+.
Ethical compliance is swept under the rug and the term "accountability" is used as a general threat that can mean you will be yelled at or fired, but you never know which it is. Stay away unless you have no other options. College graduates hold out for another company. This or Wal Mart on your résumé closes doors.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better and they will meet the higher standards.
