I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

In the beginning it was a fantastic family oriented place to work with major room to grow learn and move up the ladder.

Cons

Recently they are only concerned with pushing sales of memberships and credit whether it helps members or not. Unrealistic expectations are forced down from home office.

Advice to Management

Be more concerned about your members, appreciative and understanding of your employees with out them your bottom line wouldn't be looking so good.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The best thing of this company is the people you work with that work so hard but get no where with this company.

    Cons

No matter how hard you work, Show up everyday, barely call in for any reason, they still manage to set you aside and find people younger than you, will make less than you, to put in a full time position.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way Sam Walton started this Company to be.

I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Generally flexible hours, decent middle management, challenging work, non-union(possibly a pro or a con, depending on one's opinions of unions), free membership to Sam's Club(Normally $45), decent availability of cross training, good job security for skilled workers in non-seasonal jobs.

    Cons

Management quality drops sharply during corporate visits, excessive focus on credit cards, questionable policies regarding unpaid merchandise reaching the exit doors, poor organization of stock and backstock, lack of availability of full time positions, conflicting schedules for cross department work.

    Advice to Management

update and revamp the infrastructure the computer systems and registers
