I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The mangers worked with you to help you be successful. I got 2 promotions in less than a year. Great chances to move around.

Cons

You HAVE to be a seller to work in any job that deals with members. I used to think it was stupid and hard but then I realized that membership is how sams makes money. Renewals, upgrades to plus, and credits are your goal each day. Get as many members as you can to do one of the three. Must be fit because you have to transfer everything from one cart to another. Water, dog food, etc.

Advice to Management

Consider focusing on member service rather than getting members to upgrade their membership to plus.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay for a retail/cashier job. Great incentives.

    Cons

Not much opportunity to move up and way too much pressure on getting membership upgrades. Most members were nasty and rude and had an attitude of entitlement compared to other retail places that I have worked.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier to move up and make the plus membership better so that it is easier to sell to members.

I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Works well with school hours for students, if you take off within a reasonable time they usually approve it. Many employees so good opportunity to switch shifts

    Cons

Management is terrible, they see right through employees, not understanding at all, they only care about sales. Breaks rarely on time, understaffed a lot of days, not very organized, no help when trying to transfer to a different department

    Advice to Management

Learn more about your employees, place them in an area that fits them more. LISTEN to your employees.
