I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The mangers worked with you to help you be successful. I got 2 promotions in less than a year. Great chances to move around.

Cons

You HAVE to be a seller to work in any job that deals with members. I used to think it was stupid and hard but then I realized that membership is how sams makes money. Renewals, upgrades to plus, and credits are your goal each day. Get as many members as you can to do one of the three. Must be fit because you have to transfer everything from one cart to another. Water, dog food, etc.

Advice to Management

Consider focusing on member service rather than getting members to upgrade their membership to plus.

I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Assistant Manager position attainable within 3 years starting as an hourly with upside potential coming from mobility and loyalty in 10 to 12 years total time.

    Cons

Pendilumn sings wildly to favor work classes failing to meet society perceptions and or corporate quotas ooops I mean goals. You can go from hero to zero in 3.2 seconds and be on the outside, when they want you out your out. Do not see any individuals retiring at the management level for some reason....

    Advice to Management

Grass roots given to clubs on supporting teams above club management by clubs.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay for a retail/cashier job. Great incentives.

    Cons

Not much opportunity to move up and way too much pressure on getting membership upgrades. Most members were nasty and rude and had an attitude of entitlement compared to other retail places that I have worked.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier to move up and make the plus membership better so that it is easier to sell to members.
