I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Meeting new people. Enjoy cool co-workers. Wages are fair. Hours work with my college schedule.

Cons

Occasional short staffing. Occasionally rude members. This all goes with retail.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're a student they work around your schedule, start off pay above minimum wage, employees get free membership and 10% off produce

    Cons

One raise a year, high turn over employment rate, cut hrs frequently, PT positions are 20 hrs or less, Don't offer FT to employees to save money and benefits, Favoritism,
In need of better upper management.

    Advice to Management

Needs to train employees properly, improve communication and organization skills.

I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casual, laid back work environment, reasonably effective management and decent benefits for a big box retail chain.

    Cons

Almost as soul sucking as working for Walmart... almost. You have a lot of long term employees that stick around for years, even though they became burned out a decade ago and absolutely hate their job. Customer service is a total afterthought.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on employee engagement and improving customer service.
