Pros

Great benefits, competitive pay, training opportunities, strong financial growth of company

Cons

Unrealistic and often contradicting goals, lack of local management support for global goals and objectives. global rarely knows how local management operates

Advice to Management

Align yourselves with global so objectives can be achieved. Global thinks you are doing this and you pretend you are...but then someone locally wants it to be a different way and a different objective or expectation which can't be supported given global directives.

I worked at Sandoz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Part of Novartis group, Financial muscle for deal making, QbD awareness, interesting projects

    Cons

Middle / mid-senior management is complacent to paranoid, nothing much gets done, top heavy, no accountability culture. They had a layoff in 2012-13, but even that was a political mess. It's like the more things change, the more they stay the same.

    Advice to Management

Need to take decisions, and somebody should be accountable for those decisions. Portfolio should stop making rosy assumptions, project management is more like project monitoring

I have been working at Sandoz full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Site is clearly heading in right direction. Management/employees are working together to improve site culture. Site was just approved by OSHA for Carolina STAR for best in class safety program. Pay/benefits is competitive for area. Senior leadership is working hard to improve work/life balance.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy with Global Sandoz/Novartis. Very challenging to make changes quickly as there are many steps needed to make changes. Work life balance is still a struggle but getting much better. Need to continue focusing on celebrating small successes.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive momentum and try to breakdown the Sandoz bureacracies to make the site processes easier.
